For 13 years I have had the privilege to get to know a part of the desert southwest of Tucson, Arizona. I grew up in a very different place, with different plants, different sky, and different spirits. Yet, I love this land for it has adopted me.

In these last days of 2012, I felt called to share my drum with the land that has opened to me slowly each year, to thank it for all the kindnesses shown in every season.  I have seen sudden and subtle changes occur in this sacred place. These images were taken by me, with self-timer on my camera. I propped the camera on the ground, and then 10 seconds later these images were captured, then I drummed. Thank you place.

Each of us has an indigenous heart, even if we are far away of our ancestors.  Love the land where you are.
